We are moving!

Appalachia Alumni and Community,

Greetings on Giving Tuesday! It is a joyous day to celebrate organizations we are passionate about and our staff and board are so grateful that you are a part of our community. We have been rather quiet recently. However, in the spirit of giving today, we are excited to share information about what you can expect in the coming season of our organization. 

Since our inception in 2019, we have been so happy to establish ourselves in Knoxville, Tennessee. Representing our region, we grew swiftly and have made some great music throughout our brief existence. From our very first program, Essence of Appalachia, to our virtual programs during the pandemic, our many exhilarating destination programs (Japan, South America, Nordic Lands, etc), and more, we have enjoyed all of the beautiful moments with our participants and audiences across numerous states. Our momentum promoted the necessity to expand and explore. 

Our staff and board embraced this time of transition. With many conversations and meetings to determine our best next step, we decided to take the 2024-2025 season to rebuild, rebrand, and relocate to York County, South Carolina. Our new home in Rock Hill will position us just on the outskirts of the Appalachian region, while still keeping us connected to other major cities. Our Board of Directors are all located in this new area and are already working behind the scenes to establish our reputation with area leaders, artists, and supporters. 

We look forward to making our Rock Hill debut, our new home, in May 2025. We will be looking for musicians, alumni and new, to join us for a kick-off event as we make our first impression. More information will be provided, but be on the lookout for this announcement, as well as our plans for the 2025-2026 season. 

So what can you do today? We are not asking for financial support at this time, but would love to connect with you and see what you might want to know more about in the coming months. Below is a form we would ask anyone and everyone to complete. Future concert goers, participants (past and future), as well as potential volunteers or eager leaders who want to know more; we want to know more. It will be a strong community building day for us. We look forward to cultivating our organization with you as a part of our next chapter!
