Same Selections; Different Sound

Appalachia: A Southeastern Wind Symphony kicks off their sixth season with “Same Selections; Different Sound.” Featuring works old and new performed by collegiate musicians and young professionals from across the southeast, the concert will be held October 22, 2023 3:30 PM at First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge.


Musical selections include arrangements of “Canzon Duodecimi Toni a8” by Giovanni Gabrieli, “La Clemenza di Tito Overture” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and “Now Lettest Thou Depart from All Night Vigil” by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The second half of the concert will transcend the audience with reflective and ethereal pieces, including “After Sunset” by Werner de Bleser, Episode by Tyler Mazone, and “O Magnum Mysterium” by Morten Lauridsen. 


Artistic Director, and graduate of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Logan Campbell, will lead the ensemble of students from colleges across the southeast in a concert about faith and hope for the future. 


“Same Selections; Different Sound” will be held at First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge. Concert will be at 3:30 PM, doors open at 3 PM. The concert is free and open to the public, with a suggestion donation of $10 or more.
